The GLP-1 Collective Podcast
This is more than just a podcast—it’s a lifeline for a community fighting for affordable access to life-changing GLP-1 medications. Through heartfelt conversations and powerful stories from real people, we’re putting a face to the fight and bringing compassion and humanity to the advocacy movement. By sharing experiences from within our community, we aim to break down stigma, normalize the use of these treatments, and let those struggling know they’re not alone. Each episode is a step toward building empathy, fostering connection, and amplifying the voices of those most impacted. You’re not just listening—you’re part of the change.
The Voice Behind the GLP-1 Collective Podcast
Hi, I’m Amanda Bonello!
I’m a mom of three, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a dog lover, and someone who cares deeply about this community—about you. My journey started with a prescription for Zepbound, a medication I desperately needed but could NOT afford at $1,271.84 a month without insurance coverage.
In October, I began using compounded Tirzepatide, just as the FDA removed it from the shortage list. During that time, I saw so many people who had experienced life-changing, even life-saving, transformations suddenly lose all hope when their options ran out. For many, compounded medications became the only affordable path forward, highlighting the devastating lack of accessible treatments in our system.
It was my empathy for this community—the people who inspire me every single day—that gave birth to a petition demanding affordable access. What started as one small step has grown into something much bigger: a movement. From that petition, we’ve built a platform that includes this website, a podcast, a blog, and a nonprofit organization—all created to fight for everyone who needs these medications.
But we’re not stopping here. Because of you, we’ve already made incredible progress, but there’s still so much to do. We’re ramping up our efforts and won’t stop fighting until affordable access to these life-changing medications is a reality for everyone. Together, we can make it happen. ❤️
